Actually, I listened to this record only coincidentally, but in no time, the orignal version caught my full attention. Those vocals... so deeply touching and powerful with fantastic melodic changes, awesome! The instrumental is in perfect agreement. Always keep it going on with a tight beat, seeming to be slightly out of loop, causing a wicked groove. And the string-harmonics! Phew... leaving me speechless! The only disappointing thing here is the B-Side, imho. Tiga rips the vocals off their whole soul, the beat won't "me out-lure from behind the furnace", too. [As we say in Germany ;-)]
This "Electro-Country" song as it's being described, manages
to fuse together a fresh, yet retro sound with a
truly bizzare and hugely enjoyable female vocal.
Deep and sleazy, i defy anyone not to enjoy this track.
Pure throbbing dancefloor sexiness.
The flip hosts a faster mix by Tiga. Both are essential.
Definately one of my top picks for the year so far.
And yes, she does have a problem with her microwave by
the sounds of things! "a plate of meatballs, caught on fire!"
This has got to be the most 80's thing released on Gigolos yet, which is really saying something...It's dead good though. Is it just my imagination, or does she sing something about "a plate of meatballs caught on fire"? Surely not!
