I have to admit, I often talk about certain dubstep songs sounding 'evil' or 'disgusting' or relentlessly heavy, or something similar.. But after hearing this release I fear I must retract previous statements, because I can say with some conviction that this... this... is the most evil dubstep I've ever heard. I have quite simply never heard another song like 'The Plague' or 'Slayed By Shadows', as both seem to be a melding of Death Metal and Dubstep, as odd as that sounds in writing im sure, but im not sure how else to describe it. The way 'The Plague' begins is enough to inspire nightmares, with the ghostly voice of children singing 'Ring O Ring Of Rosies' before the guitars and hammering drums come in and your brain is bounced around the inside of your head. Same with 'Slayed By Shadows' with a nice sample seemingly from an old kung fu flick that draws you in, until once again the evil as hell guitars explode your ears, accompanied by heavy drums and truely spine tingling bass. 'Uproot' finally offers you a rest from the relentless attack experienced on the first 2 songs. The guitars are mercifully absent here, instead its quite a laid back affair, although still unsettleing with eerie atmospherics, sub bass and nice echoing drums.

In conclusion, this is a great release, and should not be missed by any who want to experience an interesting new take on dark dubstep.
