For some unknown reason, Lotus Omega somehow always menaged to slip under everybody's radar. It seems like the whole scene has been overlooking them ever since the demise of the legendary Crop Circles project, where they collaborated with the fellow italian quartet, Etnica. I always felt like Lotus Omega was swept under the rug for an unknown reason, and left there to be forgotten...
Which is very unjust, since their debut album, "Recycle Bin", contains some of the most hard, pumping, bass heavy, demented psy trance music I have ever heard. Now, anno 2007, it may not come across as powerful, fist-in-the-air, state of the art party rocking stuff, but I can perfectly recall hearing this album years back and it sure shook my world! I mean: WOW! The first six tracks are all dance floor devestators of the highest order, while the seventh track is a well deserved downtempo number. Considering this was made seven years ago, one must keep in mind that there wasn't much else sounding quite like this. This is as good of an example of a brutal clash between psychedelic and hard as any other I've heard since!
All in all, a classic it is not. A well worth addition to your collection, oh yeah! If you are familiar with tracks such as Waldorf Salad or 100% Revital Free, then "Recycle Bin" offers more of the same: no holds barrel, uncompromising and wicked psychedelia for those who are willing to cope with it.
