Insolation Chilling in Germany has released several really good chill out releases. Here they are back with an album by M-Sphere (Markus Kaiser), and he gives us a journey into melancholic tunes.
The cover art is dark, but really nice. Maybe a sign of dark music? The first track is very relaxing down tempo chill, with some melancholic melodies and dark sounds. This one is also released on Psychedelic Chilling 2 (Insolation Chilling 2002). Track 2 starts with the sound of birds singing and water, before an almost scary floating sound comes in. It goes over to down tempo chill again, and things become a bit lighter. Nice psychedelic sounds drifting in and out. Track 3 has a lot of typical synthesiser melodies, but it is actually really beautiful. This will for sure do some good in the chill out area. Track 4 is the darkest track so far on the album. The slow rhythm in this one is really cool. He has also added trumpet played by his dad! Track 5 is a deep track with a nice going down tempo rhythm and relaxing melodies. Track 6 sounds almost sad, with very melancholic floating melodies. Track 7 has the fastest rhythm on the album, but it`s still relaxing. Almost dubby rhythms and some happy melodies. The last track is another version of track 2. This one is much longer (lasting over 15 minutes!) and it sounds a bit weirder and more experimental.
This album is very relaxing all the way through. Pretty nice tracks, but I think it is the kind of chill you can easily get bored of after a few listens. But, if you have enjoyed other releases on Insolation Chilling, this will probably fit your taste.

A very nice surprise this album! M-sphere blend perfectly emotional goa melodies with laidback downtempo rhythms. The melodies sound a bit retro-electronica at times and in general its pretty melancholic. Even though its a fairly recent album, it looks to be out of stock in most online stores and that's a shame.
