A very nice release really. The tracks by Lek and Lipo are very interesting, with the Hawgood and Herzog tracks being the absolute highlights with beautiful movement, tone and melody. Its interesting that both of these artists are on the very excellent little 12rec label. Its a well chosen mix and moves along nicely, the only problem being that it seems to peak in the middle with the previously mentioned tracks. Its also an interesting work though because it can be background music, but it catches you off guard in that it is rather detailed. Unlike a lot of recent poor ambient music (I hope Spekk are listening here) - parts of this album are very well done indeed. The Herzog track is just lovely, whilst Hawgood takes quite serious listening on headphones. The rest of the album is really rather wonderful but doesn't quite maintain the level set by these other two works. As a mix it can actually be seen as a mountain in tone and melody - gradually building, peaking in the middle and settling down in a rough and tumble fashion towards the end. Perfect for a haunted bedtime!
