Very nice single. And I just discovered it, ten years after it's initial release. Todd Edwards delivers a splendid remix, cutting up Bobby McFerrin's version of "The Pink Panther" (which was originally released on the soundtrack for 'Son Of The Pink Panther' in 1993). The final result sounds a bit like a christmas track. A 30 seconds intro puts you in that cheesy 1950's mood: 'Home is where the heart is', and then, it's all coming to life. I personally imagine ice skating, christmas trees, snow flakes, coloured lights. It reminded me 'Santa Claus / White Winds' from the Crydamoure label, with that special 'winter' thematic.
The Dillon & Dickens version is totally different, more urban, darker, with a catchy bassline. Excellent for feets and souls.
The New York Chapter of 'Panther Party' is a jazzy variation of the theme we all know, and the sample is played without any specific modification. It gives the listener the possibility to evaluate the work done on both Todd Edwards and Dillon & Dickens versions.
