Ok. That is true: "Human Elements" had problems when it tried hard to be an acid-jazz records, and it also felt too much like a variation of Bukem's "Journey Inwards". Whenever the album got away from drum n' bass, it didn't work half as well.

So we have this new pure drum'n bass album, which is nice, ok, great. But what was excessive in the previous one, is absolutely lacking in this one: variation. Many songs share the same loops, the same tricks, the same schema, and even the same melodic lines. Some are very good taken separately, but as a whole this is more a sample album than an album itself - and at worse,an album of sketches. Only the wonderful, haunting, "Waiting" works as something that flies from the routine.

Makoto, maybe a middle ground next time would be good.

It's good to have a second album from Makoto. I much prefer this to "Human Elements" as I felt that was more like soul/downtempo/acid jazz/deep house sounding. This album is more like drum n bass, it contains such insane beats, has good progression, serious effective basslines and still has the typical sweet sounding good looking vibe that all fans like. Any off these tracks will go down well in a club and at the same time suitable for listening to at home on a late night.

My personal favourites are tracks - 1,6,8 & 11. But really all tracks are a good listen.
