This is a seriously tasty slab of vinyl to come out of Berlin back in '92. I'm a huge fan of Dr. Sven Rohrig, AKA 3 Phase, and naturally his is the best track on this, but the others are really tasty as well. A little bit trance, a little bit house, a whole lot techno, there's a yummy smorgasbord of what made the "Berlin Sound" arguably the best sound. While Detroit was reinventing its sound in '92 and Britain was still gloating in its "ultra-hipness" of the post-'88 rave scene, Berlin was smiling down on the world with it's super-cool scintillating sound of techno. Sounds you hear on this fine mini-collection of hits. And for the undereducated who think techno started in 1988 in Britain (nobody really thinks that, do they?), Berlin was the birthplace of proper techno, was it not? There were all-electronic bands making robot beats in the late sixties. And need I say more than Kraftwerk? All the same, this is a juicy chunk of early Berlin filet-mignon.
