Reviews & Discussion

Rated 5/5

Taken from the promo info sheet:

"Their first venture onto AAA Records sees them showing their more melodic colors. Karmaflage, with its shimmering/haunting acoustic guitars, warm swirling bass line and 'Deep Forest' style vocal snatches, it promises to be a summer anthem, suitable for dancefloors & beaches alike"

My first experience with this track was on the "Ezra(Moontribe) - Tracer Grind" psy/goa mixtape(very 1st track)from 98(?). Seeing as how most mixtapes back then NEVER came with a playlist, I barely stumbled across who made this...yesterday.

The original mix is where it's at. The song builds nicely and the guitar isn't just looped, it gets fluerishs and changes around. Super clean sounding guitar too. This track is like goa "lite". It will make your heart flutter and bring tears to your eyes. Bad mood/stress? Close your eyes and let this melt everything away. (You may even find yourself doing a little whistling!)
The "Light" mix sounds like an progressive trance extended remix of the original. The hint of goa gets taken away and gets replaced with some moog bass. Even gets into a bit of breakbeat at the last break, then swirls back into progressive trance at the end. This is the clubbier version of the two. This version was also included in the "Hardesertrance" CD by DJ Brian.

Even to now, this is still my favorite song to wake up to and start the day!
