Manufactura - We're Set Silently On Fire

Manufactura has a reputation for making these very dark, very loud, yet often atmospheric pieces about the human psyche and how easily it slips back into violence and anger. This album is certainly no exception. In fact, I would contend that this is Manufactura's best to date, on just about every front--it has loud and straightforward EBM tracks like "Open for Pleasure" and "The Betrayal," but also moodier bits like "Intelligent Design," "Play Dead," and "Unforgiving Dreams." And, of course, Manufactura's trademark sonic assaults, like "Live By The Knife, Die By The Knife" and "Mephistopheles." In all, there's something for everyone, and I would hesitate to pick any single track as being particularly weak or out of place. It might not have the ubiquitous classic "Killing You," but there's plenty to make up for it.
