Huuuah......., sorry - just woke up after feeding my CD player with this one. Must be track 9, whose title "Wake up" is pointing that way. Oh yes, thats the one ! There is probably something subversive in that title, that brings people back to life. Manipulates in a pure Cronenberg- Videodrome- style ? Maybe it is - more simple- just the "super-warm production" or the voice that brought me back? I don`t know ! Anyway, I`m happy, that I woke up just in time for the following track, which is the one and only highlight. But lets get serious now, because the problem here seems to be more complex. And I have the feeling that the trouble is probably buried in the half-hartedness of the artist, who did all this. That might be too simple, but I`m just looking for an explanation . Because, it is obvious, that all his ideas on this record are vague and uncertain. And thats something, you just not only hear - you can feel it ! Because nothing is fixed or really figured out necessarily. The only thing you hear (and I`m not joking) is ...........uncertainty! A fractured melody here, some clicks there. And thats it. Warmth, atmosphere... ? Nope ! Ok, call me ignorant, but I really don`t see or hear a "New direction" not even any sort of direction . Is there anybody outhere who can see the point of this ? For me, there is only "midnight gegenlicht" which gives a clue of what might be intended.
