Blome's output in general is on the more technoid side of minimal. His label SENDER Records releases that sort of sound: highly danceable yet with a dark touch - reduced schemes and patterns of beat, rhythm and melody. Always quality and one can't think minimal without knowing the label. Now, Pianoroll (Blome in coproduction with Eyerer) is just a great tune that reminds one so much of THE DOORS (in particular "Riders on the Storm") and their (others) psychedelic sounds (with organ, distortion guitars) that coined a very certain Rock, Soul, Blues era of the 60ies and 70ies, which still is so close to us ... yet already so far away. This surely is a great reminiscence of that time. Sometimes you think: When does Jim finally start to sing ...
