Imagine yourself being held prisoner in a polish concentration camp during the first years of the 40's. Your conditions are hopeless: next to die of hunger, weak and sick and with only the company of rats, and awareness that if only you approach the net barrier you'll be filled with lead on the back by the guards on the towers. Your only option is to slip stealthily into the radio room and try to send a distress signal to allies, or even to radio london. Among thousand perils,came to the microphone of the radio. With only few forces who surround you, look for the frequency by turning the knob .. but the only thing that comes out are cries of death, pain, bombings, shootings, execution orders...and a long and unbearable hiss like a needle plants in your head the idea that from there you can only go out in a coffin...and the door behind you opens suddenly!...If all this were to be transformed into music, probably would be Vernichtung Lebenunwerten Leben by Mauthausen Orchestra,one of the few (and true) power electronics giants lived during the aural years of the 80's. Among few others outcasts (Sodality), Pierpaolo Zoppo,a disciple of M.B,created a highly personal mutation of the original power electronics verb by William Bennet ,venting all the sexual repression and all the morbid and depraved fantasies of a bourgeois society that was Italy at that time. Nazi imagery, photographs of horrible diseases, rapes,extreme sexual violences are intertwined with a no-mercy form of electronic that never push on the volume or on the chaos end in itself, but on the cancerous disorder caused by high frequency hisses and trips of pulverized noise able to destabilize even the most trained ear. This gem,originally released on cassette by legendary label Aqulifer Sodality,finally finds his right splendor on the prince format, thanks to the guys at trash ritual, which goes my eternal gratitude, who do a wonderful job even at the level of artwork, coating the two half-hours on tape in thirteen tracks, which are the non-plus-ultra of Mauthausen Orchestra discography. All the tricks of the house, and at best, are present here: iper-raged assaults,clouds of lethal hisses(the master of this noise technique),vintage radio sketches,disturbing clicks,deafening silences and other secrets you'll find if you dare approach to this double monolith. Another sacred graal in my collection,and one of the records without which the existence is meaningless, if you breathe the poisons from that pocket of resistance called post-industrial. Epic.
