In the comment I originally posted for the original issue of this track, I actually meant it for the "Summer Mix" of the track. That's on this release and not the original. However, I own the track on this, the original and a NovaMute mix as well. All are excellent, but the "Long Hot Summer Mix" on NovaMute is really the good one. And for some reason, that mix is not on this or the original issue. All the others are either different or just cropped in some way. But that's how techno was done back in 1992. Any way you slice it, you're still listening to one of the finest 303 lines ever written. I remember when the 303 was used for more than just "acid lines", it was actually used for its intended purpose! That is - bass lines! And the bass line I'm describing would be very difficult to actually play on a bass guitar. That is why I rave about it so much - it's intuitive, it's funky, it's fucking virtuoso, and it takes a musician (not just a "producer") to come up with such stylings. Kudos to Mijk Van Dijk for his skills. Techno needs to re-examine itself and try to get back to the roots of the electronic music genre. This is one of the finest techno tracks ever conceived in all its forms. Simple enough to be labelled techno (thus dancable), but good enough to not just be techno. I would label this a song, not just a "track". That's right, fellow musicians, you get the whole package - drums (rhythm), bass (excellent and tight!), melodies (not just one) and the most defining definer of music - CHORD CHANGES! Verse, and chorus, structure, yeah, MUSIC! Take notes, so-called "producers". This just in, I don't have a God complex. I don't think I'll ever be able to write a track half this good, but I can at least know a good track when I hear one. Think about that.....
