By far the best deep house mix CD in existence and one of my all-time favorite albums. A wonderful journey of funky bass lines, haunting vocals and quality creative beats that inspire everyone to dance. Soulful, sultry, funky and uplifting; Miguel lays it all down in this gem of a release.
indeed a superb CD, but a real shame they never released an unmixed vinyl edition, or even just a vinyl sampler with those tracks which are clearly unavailable anywhere else (like Lisa Shaw's flabbergasting "Ultimate High"). They DID release Blue Six "Love Yourself (Vincenzo & Basti Remix)" later on vinyl on the "Bare Essentials Two" 2x12, while this track wasn't even on Bare Essentials 2 mixCD! So if they really wanted to, they could do it...
San Francisco based DJ Miguel Migs has had several releases on the (also San Francisco based) label Naked Music, but this is his first mix CD on that very label. Although Migs is one of my favourite DJ's - if not THE DJ of choice - I can honestly say I am unbiased when I say this CD is excellent. Quality trademark beats from Migs, and perhaps a bit more uplifting than usual, combining the deeper sounds with soulful and funky dubs, all flawlessly mixed into 72 minutes of summerly pleasure makes this one a classic in my shelf.
