From an instrumental standpoint, this CD is okay...If a little middling. The inclusion of vocalist Anais (not sure if I spelled that right, sorry) ruins several of these tracks ---I don't consider her a very good vocalist; sounds very forced and she's not interesting or dynamic enough to justify the affectations. I have given it several listens, thinking I was perhaps not giving it enough of a chance, but still have trouble making it through any track she's on.

I hope Mike Shannon has more wholly-instrumental releases, because those tracks are far more enjoyable! I would consider this a fair release for an artist early in his career, however it sounds like he has yet to fully come into his own.
