Reviews & Discussion

Rated 5/5

I actually just wanted to comment on the song "Bicycle Day". This song is probably one of the best in the Milieu catalog(IMO). A nicely contained but groovy beat is layered upon with the most beautifully melancholy and thought invoking melodies. One that would sit fine alongside early Aphex and BOC songs. High praise indeed, but worthy of the name drops.

Overall, Echo Spectrum is a fantastic companion album to "New Drugs For Nuclear Families Of The Seventies". Overtly melodic and chilled and definitely in the more beat oriented vain of Milieu releases.

Standout tracks for me would be "Bicycle day", "Echo Spectrum", "Pavillion Nights", "Pinwheel Carousels" and "Peak Overlook".

Fans of Aphex Twin(SAW 85-92 era), Plaid, Boards of Canada, etc should check without delay.
