By the way, we rocked No UFO's in Chicago, it was part of the whole WBMX Hot Mix 5 rotataion (Heck I thought it was an import!) I know techno is it's "own thang" but NO UFOS's (an a whole lot more Detroit tracks) were foundational in the Chicago House Music history.

'No UFO's' single is the beginning of the solo carrer of Juan Atkins as Model 500 and one of the most important releases in techno history. It's the first single of Metroplex, his label, still from 1985.
'No UFO's' track represented the avant-garde of the electronic music of that time, and became one of the biggest influences of the early Detroit techno scene. It's dark ambiance of the obscure bassline, strange synths and the sinister use of the vocals were unique.
'Future' is a dark electro-funk with a trend setter structure that inspired all of the artists of the genre, like the ones of Direct Beat.

When I first heard the wizard drop this track (future), I thought the electrifying mofo just landed his mothership on my roof. My porch lights burned out. The very next day I headed for Buy-rite music on 7mi, I had to hook up on this track. I gave a big shout out to juan, who just happened to be chillin' in Buy-rite that day.
Now, when I take this track for a ride on the 1200's, it still gives me chills. Those phased out synths and trade mark snares compliment the futuristic baseline, not to mention the piloting vocals.
