This is a lovely mix of electronic pop for bedroom listening. It's more than a little reminiscent of Triple R's "Friends" mix from a couple years back, not least because it includes the Superpitcher remix of Dntel & Oxtongue's "Delight" (uncredited, at the start of the Richard Davis track), the one-two punch that ended that mix, though the Modernist's mix is a bit more poppy than Triple R's techno. Best moments: first, his resurrection of Autosundmädchen's "All the World Loves Lovers", a track that deserved far more exposure than it got. And closing with Scritti Politti's "The Boom Boom Bap", a love song to hip hop which makes a beautiful end-of-the-night song.

This release bridges the gap between minimal and brilliant pop music. Big credits to Jörg Burger for his first mix cd and to Stefan Strüver for starting a promising new series of mix compilations.
