Mono disenthralls another fine album. What is it? Your typical post-rock-indie-artsy-fag-shit as most put it, and I could not agree more. But is that a bad thing? Not at all! The compositions in this near 60 minutes of music is excellent. Not one moment was I bored or disappointed or expecting more.
What grabs me is the beautiful strings. Viola, cello, violin, guitars, bass... They're all so well done, wrapped up tight with some subtle (and not so subtle) drums to back it all up. Now, perhaps, that description sounds boring, but it is very vague when describing this album. It is nothing but yet-another-post-rock album, however, its well done. A really great CD worth listening to a few times over.
