Monobox - Realm

Elegant is the word that came to my mind while is was trying to find words for this 12". This is elegant techno. A straight and sparse rhythm, working like a crystal clear surface with different sounds and noises appearing on it and underneath it.

Listening to these tracks reminds me of sitting by a little pond on a summer evening, seeing little animals and objects causing structures and circles on the water surface, gleaming reflections of light appearing side by side with shadows projected to the bottom ground of the pond.

A strangely organic sounding masterpiece, warm and cold at the same time. Probably Robert Hood's take on those obvious Basic Channel aesthetics. Then again, what the man has crafted here definitely is a realm of it's own.
