Kenny's use of Mass Production's "Welcome To Our World" for "Music People" is well documented, but I haven't seen anyone mention the source for the A side. "I Can't Kick This Feeling When It Hits" is essentially a disco edit of Chic's "I Want Your Love", from the bassline and beats to the "What am I gonna do?" and the title sample. Excellent use of tiny little parts from an already hot disco track!

The sheer joy you feel when the track moves from silky strings to raw tough disco is indescribable. This is my favourite moodymann record, a perfect summation of his musical ideals and influences into one epic beautiful house record.

If I had to choose my 2 fave tracks by Kenny, these would be my choices. Uplifiting, raw, deep and timeless, as any other KDJ release, but these are special, maybe because my first contact with his work was via his Silent Introduction album and Music People grabbed me instantly, maybe because of the very recognisable Mass Production sample (Welcome To Our World from the 1976 album of the same name) that drives most of the track, anyway it's a great record and should easily stand the test of time.
