"Turn Up The Bass" is one of those tunes that sounds like nothing else. Jonny L has claimed before that he spends months not really listening to Drum & Bass while he gets on making his tunes - I read this in an interview about the relase of "27 Hours a Day". In this case it really shows, The drum sounds and programming are just not like most D&@B, and nor are the synth sounds (a repeated 3-note riff that nags away like an alarm or siren) or vocals (semi-melodic male voice intonations). While this tune may be difficult to categorise in the current scene, or awkward to program in a set, I suspect it may stand the test of time as an influential piece.
Moonwalking is a bit more like the Jonny L of old (Wish U Had Something / Moving Thru Air spring to mind), but the vocal is very strange, and the overall effect is quite minimal and stripped down.
