If you like anything at all about disco, you'll love both sides of this one. Save it for me is a cover of the original Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons tune, and Never Too Late is an original. The singer, Victoria Barnes, a one-time Manhattan society night club songstress, is more than adequate, especially with help from a backup group of singers that are just church spiritual enough. The string and horn arrangements play exciting runs and burst into energetic crescendos, as the rhythm section, fueled by a rhythmic wah effect on a guitar, and a truly virtuosic percussionist to keep the blood pumping with a Latin flavor, carry these along nicely and may just make you pine for the days of Studio 54.
