Before Gabriel & Dresden, nobody had really dared to remix this incredible euro-trance record (famous all over the world). They were the first guys who gave a new breath of life to the records. Progressive and electro are the ingredients witch form part of this new remix.

Nalin & Kane scored a massive club hit in 1997 with the mesmerising 'Beachball'. Perhaps it was the lucious vocals or the sweet summery sound of waves and seagulls. Whatever it was, people could not resist the track. Then just when we thought it was all over, the following year Mr Tall Paul Newman gets ahold of the masters and resculpts an otherwise perfect House tune into a mighty floorfilling anthem. 1998 was a big year for me personally. It was my final year in school and I first started mixing music and so naturally, this track gets me all nostalgic every time I hear it.

I was only 14 when I heard this for the first time. I was in summer camp in France, we were travelling by coach around La Rochelle when someone from our group dropped the song inside the cd player. Few weeks later, I recognized the song at the radio. I was so happy to ear the song again and can finally get a name for this stuff. It will always remain on the top of the best tunes ever made in the dance music factory and by myself I can say that any songs won't be able to remove it from my heart because during the same summer camp, I also met the person who will become my wife 10 years later.

Beachball is a real BIG Anthem, everytime I hear it, "Ibiza!" comes to my head, it was THE track there back in 97-98, when Ibiza had that special feeling, I think that feeling has changed in the last years, that spiritual thing that this track captures.
Rated 4/5

The Gabriel & Dresden remix is the best remix attempt to this awesome track in my honest opinion. I would of rated this a 5/5 but had to drop a point due to Waxman's Mix. I wasn't totally feeling Waxman's remix because of the tracks unbalanced layouts and iffy baselines. I was confused to what I should be feeling while I was listening to Waxman's version. The original puts you in that special ambient/chillout mood as to what Gabriel & Dresden did best on this remix. Waxman's remix had a tribal vibe that did not suit the original vocals, which threw me off guard. Take a listen and you should see what I mean.
