Nate Dogg ‎– Music & Me

Nate Dogg's Music & Me has the best concentration of good songs out of any of his albums. Overall the album is terribly underrated, it has a great blend of chorus and verse. Normally I can't stand chorus in rap songs, but with Nate Dogg, it's an entirely different story, he simply has the smoothest vocals in a genre which prides itself on a rough and rugged sound, yet despite this, his vocals rival some of the finest in the r&b scene, which is best defined as a ghetto r&b style. Along with his excellent delivery of chorus and verse, Nate Dogg employs other rappers appropriately, blending his strengths with more classical rap verse-vocalists. Overall the album is a great blend of melody, some of the tracks are a little weak on production compared to Dr. Dre or the RZA's melodic efforts, but overall the production is much better than the average commercial record. This is a must have for a diverse rap collection. If you are strictly into hardcore gangster rap you may have to pass on this, which is a shame since it is a unique offering in a dead genre.
