Thankfully I got one of the 500, and I treasure it.
What a track! Recorded in 1981, this is the real sound of the New Romantic movement. Of course Fade To Grey is the ambassador, but Transdance is the image in my head when I think of the Blitz club. And yes, I was two years of age at that time.
This track predates House by five years, but it could easily fit into a mix of Chicago Warehouse classics. It was an undeniable influence on Electroclash, and again it would fit into any electro mix with ease.
What's it got? Well, what's it NOT got!
Moody male vocal, angelic female singing, tight House percussion, a menacing dark bassline, ice cold synths...
If that gets you interested, well don't just sit there. Check this out and realise why the original 1981 white label sells for over £170.
I'm just glad I got the repress.
