10 years ago this record probably would have been burned down to the ground by critics or wouldn't they?
However at this time of writing 'The Orca Reunion' was chosen by listeners of the cybernetic broadcasting system as the toptrack of the year 2007. A simple little melody, a bassline accompanied by nifty beats from a worn-out drummachine is all there is to it. Well maybe just maybe a decade of thinking about / working out the production might have helped. Nevertheless the endresult is what counts. Ladies and gentlemen Jan Duivenvoorden reluctantly shared this with us yet he rightfully did so. Lay back and enjoy.

For me the great track on this record is 'The Orca Reunion'. A weird and eerie sounding masterpiece and not really very similar to anything else I can think of. I first heard this on CBS.Nu back in 2004 or 2005 and fell for it right away, tracking down an MP3 soon afterwards. I had hoped it would turn up on vinyl some day and now it has! The other tracks are all pretty good too and the artwork, well Penguins are pretty cool!!
