Presenting a re-worked cut-up of the legendary movie "Mabuse" by Fritz Lang with Nocturne background soundtrack !
Concept album builded arround the figure of Doctor "Mabuse" the anti-hero of Norbert Jacques's novel, the genius of crime and chaos, the genius of finance in a slow falling world in the first part of 1900 ... Slow moving tracks reminding to a world brocken by First World War . Very industrial concept using analog instrumentation mixed up to sounds from the beginning of the last century and many samples in German language taken from the legenadry movie as well as french vocals...
That extreme tonality of fear, armored in the annihilation of reason and the seduction from insanity, a biological defense that subtly directed from a third could block all individualistic intentions from the will. Terror is the base of modern power as much as force its primordial requirement.
Terrorize then manipulate then convince, all the factors can be exchanged but the result will always be the same.
Power.
Nocturne's opus Terroriser-Manipuler-Convaincre is a conceptual deal on Terror & Power understood from a Machiavellian perspective with a subtle introduction: "the means are the ends in theirselves". Basically to control the mass is to gain power, but above all that, power is the pleasure to destroy, to command at will and to manipulate all the way, from all these come the unlimited ammount of force given to one individual or one corporation whichever this may be. Dr Mabuse the antihero exposed in this aural quest has become the hero from our times, a man (or a beast) that loves to destroy people in all the ways he can, emotionally, psychologically and off course, physically.
The music could easily be juxtaposed as a soundtrack for the Fritz Lang version on Dr Mabuse as it match perfectly with the mood and cadence as well as the concept tuned in the score. The DVD included that contains a collage of image frames taken from the movie is a perfect example on this. Terrorizing through an amalgamation of insane Dark ambient textures and obfuscating drone layers, cascades of old school industrial noise and violent pulsations the listener slowly slips in a world commanded by the logic of fear and the moral superiority given to the masters of this logic. Mysterious and obscured in the realm of perversity one is able to descend and find out that there is no scales in the pit represented in this inferno and that there is no secure bottom line in the depth of the abyss. Evil is not clichéd representation in here, its a serious threat with morphing shape as the music itself is, progressive, showing its deceiving nature, perhaps just as the politics of our world are as well as the leaders representing them. This is philosophy made music in a very profound and subversive way. Excellent score, very cinematic and vivid.
The conspiration is not lead by others, it is lead by ourselves, the conspiration from the silence product of our ignorance our unnatural comfort and our perennial indifference. One hundred Dr Mabuse's govern our lives and they gain the bet from the conspiracy from our silence.
