I registered to post this. I completely agree with Bandicoot for the same reasons. I used to DJ at a club in Preston when this was out, I could play it 10 times a night and it wouldn't be enough, I used to drop in the chorus in other tunes and the place would go mad. A couple of months later POOF, nobody wanted to listen to it anymore :)
Point is this tune was cheesy, but it didn't give a toss and was the better for it. It led the way in showing how a claptrap hook can make a record however anodyne the rest of it was. I'd never done drugs at the time either, but it just got girls off their seats in a way most tunes don't. I love this tune!
Unless you were there you are not going to understand. This is a personal point of view that hundreds might relate to.Oceanic`s "insanity" is no masterpiece. To many its as cheesy as 2 Unlimited`s "get ready for this".I know dj`s who would`nt dream of putting the track in their old skool set.Your aunties have thrown their bags into the ring and danced to it at weddings but "This is rave" i`ll explain. There is no deep meaning to the song in which you are supposed analyze. Its basically something to go mental to on drugs lets face it.Its a light hearted sort of anarchy. You couldn`t care less if she had a crazy fever burning in her soul you wanted to be taken to insanity for a night before going back to whatever it was you came from.It just said go for it.Its not about the song its about the time.Maybe its just a northern thing but this cheesy record will always be a bit special
