One Dove - Breakdown

My absolute favorite One Dove track. Emotive and haunting, it blends the the dub elements and Dot Allison's voice into a cohesive whole. Who knew that sadness could sound so good? William Orbit makes the track a little more digital, but without adding much else. It's as if he knew not to mess too much with perfection. The "Cellophane Boat" mix pumps up the drums and also highlights the melancholy guitar line, before those reggae chords come in. Two-thirds into the track, after a spoke word sample. there's a breakdown where it's just Allison's voice, echoing drums, and strings. For some reason, it gets me every time.
