Great 12'' from Spain's legend Oscar Mulero! Friday Thirteen has the typical rough off beat sound: relentless percussion, slightly broken, with screeching sounds and occasional eruptions of vocals which just cannot be made out. Very hard and heavy, with a lighter melodic sequence hovering around.
The flip side has Hungry, which follows the same formula. Thundering percussion, with a bass line just as deep, and a high pitched sound, paving its way from the background, is present while slicing the air throughout the track. It makes me think of the noise one can hear when present at a train station, just as a train is about to hit the breaks before it reaches its destination. It becomes even more audiable when played loud.
Actually, both of these tracks cause damage to any given sound system, any given party. Superb, high quality techno showing no mercy. Amongst my favorite Warm Up releases.
