'Sorrow & A Cup Of Joe' just hits the Sunday after vibe like no other track has ever done that for me. The mood is unique but very recognizable for most people I think. It's sad, dreamy, passive and relaxed. You all know that sunday after feeling. You wake up around midday and the first thing you do is look out of the window. The weather is pretty sombre. You're starting up really slow and there's a first cup of coffee in your hands. You don't need to do anything, why should you? Just listen and drown the simplicity of this piece of art. I've never experienced an electronic record amplifying my daytime mood in such a strong way. It doesn't get bored at all.

It contains very minimal 808 percussive elements and emotional arpeggiated synth sounds. I can hear a serious sound design in these fresh and analog sounds. This is timeless music. No this isn't a dancefloor buster, nooo. Just pure sensitive living room music.

One of the most brilliant laid back deep house records of the new millenium. "Makes me feel alright". I doubt this record will ever leave my box. i was lucky to find a promo copy of this for only 50 pence in my local record shop Vinyl Exchange. Written by the sadly missed James Stinson of Drexciya who died on Sept 3rd 2002. This emotive beautiful record must have been one of his last pieces of music. live at the laptop cafe : sorrow and a cup of joe is a timeless and stunning masterpiece. i agree with the previous comment made too, lovers of deep music from Berlin, Manchester, Rotterdam, Detroit will all enjoy the lush frequencies on this brilliant piece of wax. find it !

This was recently repressed on plain 'ol black vinyl. This is some seriously laid back minimal gear--an excellent addition to the collection of Burial Mix fans as well as Playhouse followers.
