Outwork Featuring Mr. Gee (4) - Elektro

The first couple of remixes - from Joey Negro & The Cube Guys - are the highlights of this maxi-single. Elektro is a fantastic, club-oriented house tune with a super-funky bassline and catchy lyrics. MrGee "rap-sings" on vocals, giving it great bounce and hip-factor. Joey Negro's remix is notable as he supplies new synth riffs and percussive effects that work perfectly. Robbie Rivera's remix here is deliberately brusque as electro tracks go. I'm sorry to report that it's not as exciting as his Juicylectro Remix - an electro-house twist - found on other releases. Scott Wozniak does a fair job with rearranging the hooks and melody line of the original, and also supplies new synth arrangements. Perhaps unsurprisingly, his remix is overshadowed by Joey Negro's. The enhanced video in question, cheapens the entire song to boobies and bikinis (though it isn't half as interesting as I'm making it sound). The voyeur could do a lot better with Benny Benassi's "Satisfaction"... at least HIS girls play with men's toys and lip-sync better.
