This record is no exceptional quality production, nor is it a crowdmover or killerclassic if I compare this to all the famous trance classics. Yet this record is sooooo enjoyable to listen to. Whereas most other trance classics are merely beautiful to listen to or to dance yourself to death (which is, of course, important factor number 1) , Hey DJ has an atmosphere which is hard to explain. Probably the spacey sounds, the Russian vocals and the melody combine this track to one strong package of a special atmosphere. In my opinion, this one is better than PPK's monsterhit "Resurrection"
