Painted Pictures - Tuxedo Sessions EP

I picked this up a couple years ago on white label when I was in Detroit and then promtly forgot about it. Digging through my records today, I found it and since I couldn't remember what it sounds like I threw it on. The Malik Alston and Doc Link remix of "Something" is a scorching hot deep soulful vocal house jam that reminded me straight away why I picked it up in the first place. The vocal is beautiful, and it rides overtop of a nasty filtered loop and loose percussion. The sax solos add just that right amount of soul to it to take it to a higher level. A very overlooked Detroit house gem.
