On "Das Album", Reinhard Voigt takes a cut-up approach as Pentax that is not dissimilar to his brother's work as M:I:5 on "Maßstab 1:5". However, the results are much darker and stranger, often discarding melody in favour of simple, crackling beats. It's an intriguing work, and certainly among Reinhard's most enjoyable full lengths, but in the end, "Maßstab" wins out as the better work - yet another instance of Reinhard being in his brother's shadow.
