I LOVE this album! I must say that because it's tremendously underrated among Hammill fans. But, having been a demented Hammill fanatic for 23 years, I think I can have a say. First, never mind the drum machines, never mind the 80's FM synthesis, care about the songs themselves. You'll find that "Hemlock", "Invisible Ink", "Time To Burn", "The Play's The Thing" and "Under Cover Names" are among the best songs Hammill has written.
And the rest of the album is not a filler, either. Simpler than classic Hammill - maybe, but every inch as intense, thought-provoking and original as anything he's done in the 70's. Thumbs up!
