Reviews & Discussion

"KJZ" for me still stands as one of the finest pieces of Drum & Bass ever made, the sort of music that comfortably unites genres.

Very progressive and fuzzy sounding, but with intricate precision on the programming that allows a technical intensity familiar to drum and bass, combined with a stylistic freedom and organic flow generally associated with jazz. Perhaps the next chapter of Innerzone Orchestra's "Bug In The Bassbin" but with a soul all of it's own!

This is definitely music for the mind, sometimes the feet, but mostly for the heart. Genuine classic.

This is by far Photek's best work to date.

"K.J.Z." is one of the sexiest pieces of jazzy drum'n'bass I've ever heard; everything just melds together perfectly. "The Hidden Camera" is a very voyeuristic sounding piece of music; jazzy, eerie, dirty sounding.

This is why everyone considers Photek as the standard for Drum 'n' Bass.

The track Hidden Camera has to have one of the grooviest and at the same time complex beats ever produced with electronic equipment! It just swings like there's no tomorrow with a slight bossa touch.

The bassline is brilliant too, with a good double bass sample and the jazz-chordings that finish this piece up, are excellently dark, having a remarkable effect.

drum'n'bass at it's best, check it out.
