Do not listen to this guy. Punisher is a simple track but deadly with its spooky pads and background sounds. It does have an average wobble which is no rubber chicken, but works well with the 6/8 timing. Classic sample with a good 48 build up, before a 4 bar interlude bringing silence before the big drop. The beat is a simple shuffle, maybe with a lack of reverb on the clap as it could have, but all round this is kept minimal. A true classic, only for the dirtiest of raves in the darkest of venues!
While Pinch has played a huge part in developing the dubstep scene in Bristol, his releases have been quite hit or miss for me thus far. This one unfortunately ends up in the latter category.
Although not completely without potential, "Punisher" ultimately ends up as a far too simplistic effort. The bassline is an average wobbler that fails to make much of an impact, and the looped ragga vocal sample was already implemented far more efficiently by Ed Rush on "Bludclot Artattack" about 13 years ago.
