Where to begin?

Astronomy Domine, of course! Icy waters underground... It's beautiful! That's all I can recall. Do you need an explanation for this? Yes. Do you get one?

Track two starts off in rocking fashion, which is quite unbecoming of the Floyd. Never mind, Syd soon remedies such worries with lyrics that mess you up. Yes, imagine such a thing! You're the left side, he's the right side.

You're a witch. I can hear it.

And then it comes.

"There was a King, who ruled the land. His majesty was in command, with silver eyes, the scarlet eagle showered silver on the people. Oh mother, tell me more…"

Next is "Flaming". Oh my... It's so beautiful! So beautiful.

Pow R. Toc H. is a tough one, it's challenging. Let that fear slide. It's all cool. You hear that piano, it's leading you on to things you already know. Let it flow.

Take Up Thy Stethosope And Walk... What an organ line! Flow with that for full effect, and prepare for heaven on earth!

Lie back. It's The Gnome.

He's a happy gnome. Wining, dining, biding his time.

Oooooooooh, my…

It is good.

Lie back. Close your eyes, and open your mind. Keep it open, and let it grow!

Chapter 24 is intricate. Listen carefully. Enjoy the bass, enjoy the music, but soak up the words.

Are you ready for Scarecrow? Good. Hear that lovely horse clopping? Yeah, go back to the start again.

Wait now for the words. Soak up what Syd says. So beautiful!

"The black and green scarecrow as everyone knows, stood with a bird on his hat and straw everywhere he didn't care. He stood in a field where barley grows…"

We end with Bike. It's BIG yes. It's really for Syd himself, but we can all listen in to Syd's room. He did invite us, after all.

Go ahead, follow Syd into his room! But please, don't forget, that you can leave whenever you like.

Just open your eyes, and you are awake.

If my catalog number matches this one, does it mean it's an original or first press?

perhaps it would be time to split this release in it's so numerous reissues.

If you ask me, this album has got to the best album of all time!! Syd Barrett influenced everyone from the Beatles to Radiohead and everything else in between!! This is very pioneering and still is today mainly because of the sounds that are used! Everything else is just second best! You can't top this album, its perfection and plus it would be impossible!! There isn't a bad track on this album, there all brilliant!!! 100 out of 10!!!
