In addition to the Russian Observatoire release, a UK edition has been issued by the Lime Green Yellow Recording Company via Bandcamp, which features a download component complete with two extra tracks; Under Satellites (first interpretation|edit) and Stones And Soil (handover version).
In both cases the professionally made CD is identical and presents music and textures gathered from and inspired by the Azov and Black sea regions of the Russian Steppe. The music that features is a hybrid of Placement's lush 'Landscape Music' style and Adriva's multi-layered field recoding techniques.
Contained within a standard jewel case, the sleeve comprises - a mosaic abstract to the front of a red lined booklet, a red lined tray featuring a photographic seascape to the rear and a macro photographic image to the CD itself. Additionally Russian text inserts can be found within some Lime Green Yellow copies.
This is the first disc I've bought direct from an artist. It feels special. And of course while a well-designed case inserts and added extras aren't a guarantee that the sounds will be of the same quality, this album is captivating and fine like the cover. (Wish I could read Russian!)
