I brought this disc out once to a place as dark as the night sky. Nothing around me for miles and I had nothing but the heavy weight of all the stars to look at. Let me tell you, when this disc was playing under this blanket of stars I was scared!
The heavy deep bass and slow movements creep up to you like slow moving light in a black hole. The tracks gracefully change over from one to the next and the 70 minutes just fly by...then I replayed the disc again and again. I recommend anyone who loves to be scared to try this just once. Listening to this at home in the dark is not enough.

This album might be one of the best productions of Plastikman. It has a rare sound which drives you the deeper parts of the ocean. The minimalist wave keeps the intentions of your inner melancholy. The tenth track, that is the name of the album also, has an extra-ordinary formation, just tremendous. No word can describe the exact feelings of the listener for this album, you should try your shot. The cover of the cd album is also very interesting for that period of time, in my opinion it reflects the artistic point of Plastikman, himself very directly.

Richie Hawtin's alter ego defined with "Consumed" how minimalistic minimal techno can be. Honenstly, I didnt listen to it more than 7-10 times in my life so far, not because I don't like it, but 'cause it is like an expensive bottle of wine for the very precious moments.

Consumed, the title track is so simple, yet unattractive and enjoyable. This is something that arises out of writer's block. The success achieved here is understandable by Hawtin himself and a few others. Consume is similar to the title track. Like his other albums, the rest of the tracks sound the same.

Cardinal point in Hawtin's carreer. Probably the highlight, but, on the other hand, from then on he could get nowhere as close to perfection as on this release. Much deeper than previous lp's; oniric soundscapes create unique atmosphere which cannot be heard anywhere else. Would love to hear "Consumed part 2"; instead of it Plastikman turned 'plastic' in sound...

Consumed is one of my favorite CD's and it's my favorite Plastikman release by far. It is without a doubt a masterpiece when it comes to dubby, minimal and atmospheric techno. I like to listen to it real loud on a nice sound system or with high quality headphones. It's a challenging CD with all kinds of atmospheric sounds and deep basslines and it has the power to really make you think if you put some time and effort into it. HOWEVER, I think some people who listen to this CD believe it's the only one of its kind which just isn't the case. One of my other favorites is "Basic Channel" by Basic Channel.

Certain albums immediately conjure up images in my mind, this is one of them. It often gives me the impression of driving alone along a country road in dense fog. It's a brilliant minimal techno album with a strong ambient sense to it. Consumed reminds me a bit of Monolake's Hongkong.

Kono album wa hunto ni omoshiroi.
Listen to it through headphones after a dube (if I maybe so bold as to mention) and you will quickly understand why the album is thus named.
Evolving soundscapes that capture your imagination through there subtle movement. Ah, here comes the sound of the rotating sphere.... ah there it goes again. (imagination sparked)
AS above, it certainly aint dark. Its Deep. Deep in thought, deep in attention payed, deep in the effect it is likely to have on you, Deep as in Oceanic.
A supreme work of music. Mr Hawtin is a talented man.
