these guys have an amazing production style. embracing hip hip and electronic music. i like the choppy cut up, yet atmospheric style of some of the tracks. the scratches are nice too. also check out a project called DABRYE, who will be releasing a remix for prefuse73.

Prefuse 73 uses the human voice as an instrument and is though following the ideas of human beatbox. Stuttered rap voices whom are sampled from a record by putting down the needele on the record randomly. The result is not experimental at all but fresh groovin´ tunes with that special extra. If Autechre are subliminal hiphop, Prefuse 73 brings the nerdy harddisk-rock of Autechre back to the streets. Recommended !

Prefuse 73 tries to go an another way in Hip Hop. Okay, that IS a new way and I like it. Experimental sounds and sequences between the breakbeats gives you a special kind of feeling. You like more abstract stuff of this genre? Then try to check releases from Anti-Pop Consortium and the new label "Lex Records" (supported by Warp).
