Of all the mixes of this track, my favorite is the original, which for me says something about the artist's great inspiration. Starting off on the trancy-repetitive side, just when you think you will be bored, this track takes off with some new variation that brings satisfaction to the neighborhood of twenty minutes or so. A great ambient track with trance inducing computer rythms at a medium level bpm. Luckily enough, the Vladislav Delay mix is included here for additional enjoyment.

I've yet to hear a duff Pub track!! Everything they do is just Exemplary.
Beautiful serene tone poems with these almost aquatic pads that give their tracks an Organic feel.

'Summer' is no exception to the above as it immediately surrounds you in Ambient Lushness.
I once listened to this whilst on a train travelling North & it transformed my mindset to life & my existence for about 15 minutes..Deep, life-affirming music!

If you are at all familiar with the dope/dubby minimal techno of BASIC CHANNEL or RHYTHM AND SOUND, then you'll know what to expect on this PUB release. It actually feels more like an album than a remix CD. After all, the first track is over 16 minutes, the 2nd over 18, and the whole CD clocks a bit over 60 minutes. Track one, the "original" mix reminds me of HALLUCINATOR or FLUXION with the ambient soothing flavor. Then a little edge and heavy low frequency bass is added in the "Delay Configuration" tracks (2 & 5) offering a great variety to the work. My personal favorite, however, is the Nick Rapaccioli remake, which sings Rhythm and Sound right from the get go. Surprisingly, the percussion brings the tempo a bit quicker than expected, but works and does not draw away from the soothing dubby piece. This is an incredible CD that can live in your CD player for quite some time without feeling like many other 'remix' CDs that would not have a lasting effect.

Vladislav Delay is the new Master of relaxing soundscapes.
"Summer original" is an 18 min+ long suberb trip. It will save you a lot of money on your gas bill during wintertime, that warm this beautiful track is. Pub - Summer can thrive with the best the Orb has ever made.
