The best PBO release ever. Tough, minimal hiphop with a new (for early 90's) semi industrial and dark ambient flair to it. Prefuse73 may changed the trend of idm hiphop but PBO did the same beforehand. No wonder Skam was so interested in signing this guy. I remember when this cd was first about to be released. It was delayed due to the sexually graphic pictures on the cover/insert. If you look closely (you dont even have to look that closely) you can still see a female giving felatio on the cover. And the inside of the insert shows a girl about to stradle a man cowgirl style. Sex sells and sells better accompanied with dope beats.
Farinas has surely changed the face of hip hop. For me it started with 'A Day In The Life' but when I picked up this album I thought I knew what I was in for. I was wrong. Soundscapage tunes, like 'Chewbacca on Crack' will take you to somewhere you never knew exsisted. With very basic beats delicatly placed, Farinas creates the eeriness that is Push Button Objects, I can't even compare this artist to anyone (or anything) I've heard before... can you? F Zebra
