I don't think i can add anything to what has already been said in previous reviews, but I'll give it a go. This is an astonishing production. I wouldn't go so far as to say it is the best piece of D&B ever but it is certainly second to none in the genre of Tech D&B.

If I ever hear a more annihilating bassline I'll probably keel over from shock - so amazing it's scary. It is simply monstrous and if it were alive would probably look something like Godzilla. It rips and tears through your mind and body like a Samurai with a machete. I strongly advise that you move any valuables well out of harms way because when you stick this fucker to the needle you'll be kickin' like Bruce with a vengeance.

After buying this I've always been slightly disappointed with further BC releases. That's not to say I don't like them. I love all my BC records but this is just so monumental that it's virtually imposssible to beat. I too will never tire of hearing this and everytime I put it on a mix CD it just sticks out like nothing else.

The title couldn't be more accurate -- Champion Sound !!!

This is the first release from this group of Oxford boys on their new label, Legend Records. I used to go to nights they put on in the 90s in Oxford , they would all dj there so I got to hear this stuff as it was released and I can assure you it rips the place down :-), the Champion Sound track on the B side.
The sample is also from an old techno track called 400 blows Champion Sound --check the link below and listen for yourself
it's slightly slower but there's the sample they used , .http://www.discogs.com/400-Blows-Champion-Sound/release/181818
It says above its from Super Beagle, obviously wrong aand sounds nothing like it if you listen,
Excellent record though always loved this track and the A side is also a good track night moves but not a patch on the B side. A million people have done a remix, I like the the Doc Scott version which has a re-edit of Champion Sound on the other side, but thee other mixes need a listen to o the original-LEG 001 as it has all the right stuff. Excellent record and there are many others hidden on this label.

Champion Sound is a classic track, very moody and menacing with razor sharp beats, heavy bass and ragga sample.

This was mega popular back in 1993/1994 and was remixed many times, but no mixes could touch this original mix. Surprisingly 'Champion Sound' is the B-side and Night Moves is the A-side. There is a subtle Indian sample used about halfway through that really adds to the track which might even be in reverse. The mentasm riff that provides the main hook to the track really sticks in your head. I like the way that at the end of the record the riff rolls out with no beats.

Night Moves is another classic at the other end of the Jungle spectrum with a mellower feel, although still pretty moody at the end of the day; with heavy bass and distorted beats. The track breaks down halfway through with an ambient section then builds back up with the beats and bass.

Classic Jungle from the early 1990's.

I'd go as far as saying this was the 'first' proper Drum n Bass tune - I know others came before it, but this tune is the only one that's still being copied today, just now the beats are programmed instead of sampled.

Champion Sound Rude Boy Champion Sound... one of the best dar d&b tunes EVER! Everything d&b should be, sinister, totally lacking in melodies, just makes you want to bounce about like a nutcase.

This Bad Company remix as usual has a superb tearin' bassline that's so addictive, myself also will never get bored of this record..
The Tipper remix is pretty cool until after the first drop, where it progresses into a screwed-up, crazy breaks tune.
But still, the BC Remix is what it's all about.. Big Ups!

In my opinion, Bad Company's take on this is the most incredible piece of drum 'n' bass ever created. With a heart of pure evil, the track devours everything in it's path. I will never get bored of listening to this (although it can't be good for my head). Teh Tipper mix is a completely screwed breaksy/glitchcore type affair which is just wrong and sounds nothing like the original (still rather good though). But then that's Tipper for you...
