The Original Mix is no less than a full-on seizure/orgasm hybrid. Even the sample which opens the track is possibly the best sound to ever hit my ears. Primal instincts and mating calls and all that stuff.
And the overall atmosphere is unlike anything of its period, or whole genre, or just anything at all. I could rave about the beauty of every layer and section until I’m late for work tomorrow morning, so I’ll just sum up by saying its all strikingly cold and dark, yet curiously beautiful. And that (the acid test), as an “Original Mix”, complete with lengthy construct/deconstruct sequences to open and close the track, its perfectly listenable on its own, unlike too many trance tracks which seem cheapened and trivialised in their acceptance of this structure. These guys take full advantage of it, making it part of the journey.
I hope this track gains more recognition!
