I have to say that I completely disagree with the previous review of this track. All points about the original I'd say are bang on however the Galaxy 2 Galaxy remix is an incredible piece of music.
Maybe it's just a difference in opinion but I feel that this remix is a perfect interpretation of the original. Mad Mike has set out to make this lovely, spacey feeling piece of music something that is more dancefloor friendly yet still maintains the Italian style romantic feel of the original and he has succeeded.
A side is surprisingly handbaggy (sans cheesy vocal), despite a very nice bassline, especially for Galaxy 2 Galaxy. Even the 303 line that comes in partway through doesn't cut through the sappy fake string lines.
Both cuts on the B side are fantastic. Original is spacey and develops nicely over time and showcases ARP's organic side with its soothing Rhodes line that permeates throughout, absent from the A side. Los Hermanos' mix is expectedly deep and well structured, adding heavy reverb and delay to the original's Rhodes part, as well as rearranging it.
