Dug this out in the Berwick St Record Exchange. Worth it for the Xstasia remix alone. One of my luckiest finds ever.

This compilation is a bit of a strange mix. It contains some of the best ambient material you will find anywhere, but this is mixed in with a fair amount that feels dismal, miserable or just a little out of place.
For the diggers amongst you the 2x12" release is the only place you can find the vastly superior Katcha mix of Xstasia's Sweetness. Other soaring highlights include the BBE rework, the Greece 2000 remix, and i'll put in an honourable mention for the Tyrantanic remix - which is nothing short of remarkable. However to this near perfect sandwich comes the excessive mayonaise of some of the other tracks in the mix.
The opener by JFC is near impossible to relax to, mainly because it's the sonic equivalent of a hobo banging on your window every ten seconds while you're trying to listen to Brian Eno. In fact most of the first cd actually just puts me on a real downer. In of themselves the tracks are quite pleasant but somehow combining them makes the whole journey a bit doom-laden.
Now this is "Deep" and chilled euphoria so i can except the intensity to a point, but why then are there sudden cuts to Balearic/summery tracks such as Rui da silvers latin tinged "water", Or Kinobe's hawaiian/lounge/something Bayou Barrataria? It makes the whole mix feel a bit schizophrenic like it can't settle on a tone and stick with it.
Call me a beat elitist (no please, do feel free) but this particular mix seems to have been to carelessly selected. You can always counter this argument with the "its eclectic" angle, but these mixes are designed to be a journey and there are too many shifts so drastic that they drag you right out the experience.

I don't want to be down on this release - I know how much these ambient mixes mean to people especially now that they are getting older and moving into "classic" territory.
So do give this a listen, pick out the tracks you like, download or purchase the unmixed versions of them, then get maried and take your new spouse up a mountain and listen to Elliot J's remix of Galaxia while the sun rises, because then they will actually love you forever.

Incredible downtempo/ambient remixes of mid to late 1990s classic trance anthems. Although every track on this release is excellent, the included remixes of Greece 2000, Xstasia, and Miro's "By Your Side" are phenomenal and the remix of BBE's "Seven Days..." is absolutely spellbinding. This collection of spaced out, ethereal, hauntingly atmospheric tracks will drag your memory back in time as you step into the chill.

This comp, along with the "Chilled Euphoria" 2x12" (also on Telstar) are absolutely essential ambient gems.

Unfortunately, this record is nearly impossible to find.

A great release combining popular songs remixed to be more mellowed out, with authentic chill tracks like Coldcut's Autumn Leaves, or Rui Du Silva - The Four Elements "Water". If you want something chill, but a little more active than your typical ambient release, this is a great choice.
